For the Geology lovers we have the Secrets Under the Lava hike, where our team takes you on an exciting coastal hike to find hidden geological gems. And later in the Summer, we will be offering an ice-walk, perfect to see the beauty of the glacial ice whilst playing on the frozen landscape.

Walking towards the Summer...

Walking towards the Summer...

The days are getting longer here in Iceland and we are most excited for the upcoming season!

We can't wait to take you on our glacier hikes on Snæfellsjökull Glacier or to show you the geology gems that the Snæfellsnes peninsula has to offer.

On the picture you can see Lóndrangar, the seastacks that that sit on the shore just beneath the glacier. A must-see when traveling around the peninsula!

Eruption in Iceland

Eruption in Iceland

There is a lot of excitement in Iceland at the moment surrounding the new volcano that erupted in the Reykjanes peninsula some days ago. Of course, our team didn't want to miss this special opportunity and they have been there to see it! We at Go West have a passion for volcanoes, since we spend most of our hikes on Snæfellsjökull glacier, which sit on top of a dormant volcanoe. George and Sara took this video and we hope you enjoy it!

Snæfellsjökull National Park from the air

Maybe you have already had the pleasure of driving along the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and enjoyed the majestic view of Snæfellsjökull glacier. But have you seen it from the air? Our guide George took this beautiful photo on a winter day, when the sun is low and the light is golden. We love seeing all the textures of the lava flows and rock formations, how incredible does it look?

Northern lights over Snæfellsjökull

Northern lights over Snæfellsjökull

Last week we experienced some incredible northern lights in Iceland! Our team went out to hunt for the Aurora borealis on some of the most picturesque locations along the peninsula. Luckily, the skies were clear, so all we needed was a bit of patience and a nice cup of hot chocolate. The lights started to dance after not too long and they turned brighter and brighter, moving and changing colours! Our favourite part was when it topped the summit of Snæfellsjökull, making the view even more stunning. What a magical night!
